Dutchess Man Stole Kayak, Paddles Valued At $1.2K, Police Say

An investigation by state police led to the arrest of a 26-year-old Hyde Park man for stealing a kayak and paddles valued at $1,200.

State Police from the Rhinebeck barracks arrested Christopher Kane for criminal possession of stolen property, a Class E felony, on Tuesday, June 26.

On April 13, troopers responded to Fiddlers Bridge Road in the town of Clinton for a report of a stolen kayak and paddles. 

An investigation led to the discovery of Kane possessing the stolen items, police said.

Kane was arraigned before the town of Hyde Park Court, and released on his own recognizance. Kane is next scheduled to appear before the Court on July 24.
